The standards, as bodyweight ratios
Strength standards scale with bodyweight, so they're expressed as multiples of what you weigh. An intermediate bench press is roughly 1.1× bodyweight for men and 0.75× for women; an elite deadlift sits around 3× and 2.25×.
These multipliers are Reysa's synthesis, calibrated against published strength standards — ExRx.net's performance tables, Lon Kilgore's 2023 strength standard tables, Strength Level's database of user-submitted lifts, and Symmetric Strength's competition-derived ratings (checked July 2026). Level names mean slightly different things across sources, so treat these as honest mileposts, not verdicts.
